Holy Halloween Batman! A Batman Themed Halloween Party
We can all sympathize with his grim past. A young boy forced to witness the murder of his parents, grows up vowing to avenge their deaths by fighting crime. Brooding billionaire bachelor Bruce Wayne secretly defends Gotham City as Batman. And he totally kicks butt.
Batman's world makes the perfect backdrop for a Halloween party. From the sinister streets of Gotham City, to the dark depths of the Batcave, you can create an atmosphere that is worthy of the Dark Knight with the following Halloween party planning ideas.
Batman Halloween Invitations
Batman the Dark Knight invitations are also fantastic, just fill in the party information and mail.
Or you can take a cue from the Joker's method of communication; send a joker playing card with all the party details written with permanent marker on the back. It's his classic calling "card".
Batman Party Supplies and Decorations
There are three places that Batman spends the majority of his time, Wayne Manor, Gotham City, and the Batcave. All of these setting are great inspirations for your decorations if you decide to choose just one, but I think you should do a mixture of all three for a fabulous effect. Your living room can be the opulent Wayne Manor, your kitchen or dining room can be the mean streets of Gotham, and the big surprise will be your bathroom decorated to look like (you guessed it) the Batcave! There are plenty of fantastic Batman Decorations and Party Supplies, so go to town (Gotham City, that is!)
What better place for a Halloween party than the creepy and grandiose bachelor pad of Bruce Wayne? Have Alfred Pennyworth greet your guests at the front door. Recruit someone (or do it yourself) to dress as Alfred in a butlers costume. He can take coats and tell your guests "Master Bruce will see you shortly, please make yourselves comfortable."
Cover tables with white table cloths, and circulate drinks in martini glasses. Set candelabras and votive candles throughout the room to add to the ambiance. Throw some classical music on, or put on the soundtrack from any of the Batman movies. Since it is Halloween you should add a few creepy element to Wayne manor. A creepy family portrait, haunted shaking chandelier, or a haunted clock are perfect. Stacks of old leather bound books on tables and a strategically placed bust on the mantle or side table complete your faux mansion look.
To accurately and easily portray shadowy streets of Gotham City, use the Gotham City room rolls on all of the walls. They make a dramatic impact in a room and are easy to put up. Don't forget the Bat signal, it wouldn't be Gotham without it! Place directional signs near your doors pointing to "Gotham City", and other landmarks such as the "Arkham Asylum" and "Wayne Enterprises".
Since Batman is always foiling criminals in the dark alleys of Gotham, create a the feel of a dark alley in your home. Place a few outdoor garbage cans in the corner (don't forget to clean them first!), scatter a few crumpled balls of newspaper around the bottom of the cans, throw in a few frightened alley cats, and you have the perfect place for Gotham criminals to do their dirty work.
To the Batcave! ... er, I mean Bathroom!
Surprise your guest by decorating your bathroom as Batman's secret headquarters, the Batcave! In the Batman comic books the Batcave was accessible through a grandfather clock when the hands were turned to 10:47 p.m., the time when Bruce Wayne's parents were murdered. To recreate this, buy a roll of brown craft paper and sketch out your own grandfather clock to place on the bathroom door.
Replace the light bulbs with blue or purple bulbs to create an eerie cave atmosphere. Set a few plastic bats on the flat surfaces and in the soap dish. Use the bat room roll on the walls or ceiling. Add in a few flying bats on your towel rack, light fixtures or shower curtain rod, a bat attack foil decor to the ceiling and voilà! Batcave bathroom.
