Batman Party Theme. Batman Halloween Theme Party

Holy Halloween, Batman!

We can all sympathize with his grim past. A young boy forced to witness the murder of his parents, grows up vowing to avenge their deaths by fighting crime. Brooding billionaire bachelor Bruce Wayne secretly defends Gotham City as Batman. And he totally kicks butt.

Batman's world makes the perfect backdrop for a Halloween party. From the sinister streets of Gotham City, to the dark depths of the Batcave, you can create an atmosphere that is worthy of the Dark Knight with a Batman party theme.

Batman Halloween Invitations
Break out the bat signal and let everyone know that your Batman Halloween theme party should not be missed with this personalized Batman Halloween invitation. Make sure to let guests know they are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite Gotham hero or villain!

Or you can take a cue from the Joker's method of communication; send a joker playing card with all the party details written with permanent marker on the back. It's his classic calling "card".

Choose fun themed wording for your invites:
  • Holy Halloween Batman! Join us for a night of crime, capes and candy!
  • The bat signal is in the sky this Halloween!
  • Kapow! Join us in the Batcave this Halloween!

Guests will flip over fun invite add-ons. Choose one of these no-hassle envelope surprises:

  • Send along a black paper Batman mask in each envelope.  Guests may even wear them to your party!
  • Add a black carstock cape to your invitation - even your invite can be a superhero!
  • Make a bat invitation wrap.  Cut a bat out of black cardstock and fold its wings around your invitation before popping in an envelope.
  • A handful of yellow and black confetti fits a Batman theme perfectly and is a fun surprise!

Whatever you decide, make sure to send out your invitations 6-8 weeks in advance.  You want all of your guests to rsvp with a yes!

Batman halloween Party Supplies and decorations
There are three places that Batman spends the majority of his time: Wayne Manor, Gotham City, and the Batcave. Use these settins as inspiration for your decorations. Do a mixture of all three for a fabulous effect!

Your living room can be the opulent Wayne Manor, your kitchen or dining room can be the mean streets of Gotham, and the big surprise will be your bathroom decorated to look like (you guessed it) the Batcave!

Welcome to Wayne Manor
What better place for a Halloween party than the creepy and grandiose bachelor pad of Bruce Wayne?
  • Cover tables with white table cloths, and circulate drinks in martini glasses.
  • Set candelabras and votive candles throughout the room to add to the ambiance.
  • Throw some classical music on, or put on a soundtrack from any of the Batman movies.
  • Since it is Halloween you should add a few creepy elements to Wayne manor. Stacks of old leather bound books on tables and a strategically placed bust on the mantle or side table complete your faux mansion look.
  • Of course, con one of  your friends into dressing like Alfred.  Have him pass the appetizers.

Hang out in Gotham City
Turn your dining room and kitchen into Cotham City - a den of crime and villainy!

  • Place directional signs near your doors pointing to "Gotham City", and other landmarks such as the "Arkham Asylum" and "Wayne Enterprises".
  • Since Batman is always foiling criminals in the dark alleys of Gotham, create a the feel of a dark alley in your home. Place a few outdoor garbage cans in the corner (don't forget to clean them first!), scatter a few crumpled balls of newspaper around the bottom of the cans, throw in a few black cats (plush), and you have the perfect place for Gotham criminals to do their dirty work.
  • Leave riddles from The Riddler and jokes from The Joker on mirrors, windows, and doors.
  • Don't forget the bat signal, it wouldn't be Gotham without it!

To the Batcave! ... er, I mean Bathroom!
Surprise your guests by decorating your bathroom as Batman's secret headquarters, the Batcave!

  • In the Batman comic books the Batcave was accessible through a grandfather clock when the hands were turned to 10:47 p.m., the time when Bruce Wayne's parents were murdered. To recreate this, buy a roll of brown craft paper and sketch out your own grandfather clock to place on the bathroom door.
  • Replace the light bulbs with blue or purple bulbs to create an eerie cave atmosphere.
  • Set a few plastic bats on the flat surfaces and in the soap dish. Add in a few bats on your towel rack, light fixtures or shower curtain rod, and voilà! Batcave bathroom.

"Bat"tastic Table decorations and menu
Batman paper goods are definitely the way to go. They fit the theme perfectly, and you don't have to wash anything at the end of the night! Use these table decorating ideas to get you started:

  • Start by hanging a few bats over the table with some batman ceiling swirls.
  • Cover cardboard boxes in black paper and add yellow "windows".  Make a city scape on each table for a low-cost centerpiece.
  • Arrange branches in a vase and hang a few bats from them for a centerpiece that fits the theme perfectly!
  • Scatter yellow confetti on the table for a touch of color, and place a candy bar with a personalized batman wrapper at each setting as a fun favor.
Go with great fall foods such as pot roast and potatoes, squash soup, apple crisp and pumpkin pie. Have a bit of fun with your bar menu by serving a bat themed drink:
