• Make sure you have plenty of Mardi Gras beads and masks on hand for your guests to wear. 
• The French Quarter wouldn't be as easy, and sleazy and fun without a Tattoo Parlor. There are great companies that provide Henna and Airbrush tattoos. Check Google for your local listings.

With a large crowd, you'll want to have assigned seating.  Have personalized seating cards printed to coordinate with your invitations and décor.

 

Decorate your tables with purple, green, and or gold linens! Top the tables with gold paper products or gilded china and the rooms will sparkle! Beaded wrist bracelets double as napkin rings. Cover all the tables with lots of colorful Mardi Gras beads and Mardi Gras confetti.

 

Mardi Gras offers creative and lively centerpiece opportunities. Here are some of our favorites:

• A large bouquet of feathered and sequined masks.
• Or alternate a Mardi Gras feather mask centerpiece, and a sequin mask centerpiece on the tables.
• Top off the centerpieces with balloons in purple, green and gold.

Add a few light up candles around the base and you are all set!

 

Name the food areas with a combination of Mardi Gras terms and your company name. So you could have “Smith Bank Voodoo You Love” or “Smith Bank Bourbon Street.” Have the beverage area be “Bourbon Street” and the buffet area “Cajun Kingdom.”  

 

There are so many exciting activities you can plan, so pick and choose depending on your budget. Here are a few fun things your guests can do to while away the evening:

 

Have a costume parade and contest! Whoever has the most elaborate and creative costume is the winner!

 

All dressed up and ta-daaa! Capture it on film. Your guests will love a chance to strike a pose. Set up a photo-op area titled “Big Cheeezy” with lots of masks and beads. Set personalized cameras on the tables will give guests a chance to get to know their tablemates and have fun taking pictures. You can even set up a Mardi Gras photo op, available with a male and female jester.

 

Another fun activity that you can arrange is "Hidden Treasure." Divide everyone into two teams, and have a treasure hunt for gold Doubloons. You can hide a bunch of stuff with or without giving the teams clues as to the whereabouts of the "treasure." The team that finds the most "treasure" wins a prize!

 

Fortune Tellers, tattoo artists, strolling magicians and/or musicians. It's all up to you. Just about anything goes on Bourbon Street! Decorate each activity center or food area with custom Mardi Gras banners. For example, title the fortune-telling area “Voodoo You Love”. Don't forget to check out these great Mardi Gras games.
