Santa Party or "How My Boss Became Old St. Nick"

This party is just plain fun. You have to have a boss (or be a boss)  that’s willing to join in the fun but if you do this is a great way to enjoy an end of the year holiday office party. Have a party with the theme of Santa Claus! Sometimes we try just too hard when the obvious is staring us right in the face. Let's celebrate Santa--he works hard, gives us presents, brightens up our lives (sounds like the boss doesn’t it?).

Santa Claus Invitations

Your employees and guests will be filled with Christmas spirit when they receive a personalized Santa invitation. Add a little Christmas confetti to the envelope for a surefire way to spread Christmas cheer. If you are handing the invitations out to the office instead of mailing them, put the invitation in a small gift bag with a few candy canes and some foil wrapped Christmas chocolates; it's a "sweet" way to spread the word.

Another unique way to invite everyone is to attach the invitation to a Santa hats with ribbon, and have an employee dressed as an elf distribute them to the office. This will get everyone excited about the party, and it will also give them something to wear!

However you invite everyone, make sure to let guests know to come dressed in their most festive (and by festive we mean crazy, blinking, and possibly musical) holiday wear. Santa spring hats and reindeer antlers will only add to the merriment of all, and everyone will love seeing how creative their coworkers are.

Santa Theme Decorations and Christmas Party Supplies

Outside the party, set up Santa's sleigh and fill it with presents to set a jolly mood. Line the entry way to the celebration with giant peppermint candies and large candy canes. At the entrance into the party area set up a candy cane arch. Place a customized Santa banner hanging above the doorway welcoming guests to “XYZ Company Christmas Party.”  Or make a sign on foam core with the company’s logo, graphics that match the invitations, and “XYZ Company Christmas Party.”

Greet your guests with a life-size cutout of of the boss or CEO dressed Santa. Add a speech bubble telling everyone "Ho Ho Ho! Merry Christmas XYZ Company!". Line the welcome table with a  wavy table skirt and white twinkle lights. 

Once inside, make your guests feel like they’re at the North Pole, only not quite so cold. I like to use a 5’ Santa scene setter for this theme but there are so many Christmas scene setters to choose from including Christmas trees, reindeer, and naturally Santa himself. Sometimes it’s tough to change an office space into Santa’s playground but some ceiling decorations, a Santa banner and some Christmas lights go a long way. It’s fun and easy, what more could you ask for, especially at the holidays?

If you have a large space set up a Christmas tree next to a nostalgic fireplace. Wrap boxes in Christmas paper and scatter them under the tree, and have them overflow out of Santa's bag as well. Set up a airblown Santa sleigh snowglobe as a focal point for the other side of the room, and raffle it off or give it as a door prize at the end of the night!

Santa Table Decorations

If you are not having the party catered, make sure you use paper products. There’s enough work to be done over the holidays without washing more dishes! We like the Holiday Buzz design because it is bright and merry, perfect for spreading Christmas cheer.

Balloons make the perfect centerpieces. Bunches of red and green balloons with colorful Christmas Mylar balloons mixed in will have all your guests saying ho ho ho! Tie them to a Sweet Station centerpiece that has been piled high with chocolates and Christmas cookies.

Decorate any buffet or dessert tables with golden table cloths and gold table skirts. Add additional white twinkle lights around the edges of the table. Sprinkle snowflake confetti around the table as a final decoration.

Santa Party Entertainment

What would be more fun than a visit from the main man himself? Surprise your guests with a visit from Santa (and his elves?). Costumes are easy to find at Santa's Costumes shop. Find a volunteer or two to be a Hard Working Elf.

No matter how old you are, everyone loves party games and Christmas offers the perfect theme for so many of them. Holiday charades are sure to have everyone laughing almost as much as a “Ho, Ho, Ho” contest! Santa Party Favors

Tis’ the season for giving so make sure your guests leave with a special treat. Any kind of chocolate, Santas, Christmas trees, snowmen, is always well received.
