Shower the Bride in Every Room
A Bridal Shower Theme
Here is a party that will dispel the "room-ors" that all bridal showers are alike. Have you ever seen a bride-to-be's house after her bridal shower? If not, let me paint the picture. The kitchen is full of anything and everything she has ever (or never) wanted. She has four toasters, six partial sets of china, and more cooking utensils than the shelves of a cooking store. While her kitchen is bursting with gourmet clutter, her bathroom has one set of towels, and her bedroom is empty except for the wicker hamper from Aunt Betty (who didn't see it on the registry, but figured it had to be a desirable item). Don't let this scene be the result of your next bridal shower! Make sure that the bride receives something desirable for each room in her new home. Let the Party Girl give your bridal shower a face-lift! Save room for the fun!

Invitations
Custom designed caricatures are always a fun way to celebrate the guest of honor. If you decide to hand deliver your invitations, you can punch a hole in the corner of the invite, and tie it to a small plastic piece of furniture to represent the guest's room assignment. Small plastic furniture can be found in most toy stores. These can be sent, but might require more time and extra postage. If you are mailing the invitations, find some invites with a picture of a house on the front. Cut out pictures of furniture (and other reminders of room assignments) from magazines like, Home and Garden, Architectural Digest, Martha Stewart Living, Food and Wine, etc. and place them in the appropriate room on the invitation. Make sure you clearly identify the room assignment for the guest. For a great personalized invitation, visit Party411's Bridal Shower Creations For You! Decorations Decorate the room in the colors that the bride-to-be has chosen for her wedding. Colored tablecloths and napkins will brighten the room simply. Silk flowers hanging from the curtains and tablecloths in matching colors are a nice touch, too. Centerpieces - Make the centerpiece of each table a mini room. You can find inexpensive plastic furniture at most large discount store chains as well as at most toy stores. (At the end of the shower, all rooms can be put together in a doll house as a memento for the bride.) Try collections of real items that will be your gift to the bride to be, i.e., a kitchen utensil holder with utensils, a collection of bath soaps and accessories, etc. Seating Cards - Each card has a different room on it (or a sticker/drawing/picture that represents a room). If you run out of rooms, start using rooms like the sauna, basement, exercise room, etc. Be creative to fill in items needed. Bath towels still fit in a sauna, for example. Activities "Recipe for Happiness" - Give each guest a piece of stationary and have them each write down what they feel is a recipe for a good/happy marriage. When everyone is done, fold the "recipes" in half and place them in a box. Have somebody pull them out one by one and read them out loud. As they are being read, have everyone try to guess who wrote each recipe. There really is no "winner" except for the bride-to-be (if she takes and follows the combined advice). "Life Thread" - Pass around a spool of thread, and tell each guest to break off a piece (Don't tell them what it is for, or how much to take). As soon as everyone has taken a piece of thread, go around the room and have each person talk about themselves as they wrap their piece of string around their finger. They are not allowed to stop talking until the string is completely wrapped around their finger. Be careful not to completely cut off your circulation! In the interest of saving your circulation, you can play the same game with toilet paper (for each square you take, you have to tell the group one fact about yourself). A prize goes to the person who takes the longest string/piece of toilet paper, and can give the most facts about herself. Party Favors Doll house furniture serves as a cute memento, as does a key chain that is any piece of furniture, appliance, or anything else found in a home etc. Candy in the bride's colors is also a yummy way to end the shower. Our personalized candy bar wrappers will work, too. These ideas can also apply to a "Round the Clock" shower. Instead of different rooms, focus your theme and gifts on different times of the day!
