Sesame Street Birthday Party

P is for “party” with these Sesame Street birthday party ideas! Join Elmo and all your friends from Sesame Street for a day of party games, cake, fun party favors and lots of Sesame Street birthday party supplies. This party theme will show you step by step "how to get to Sesame Street"!

Sesame Street Party Invitations

Start with a fun custom sesame street birthday party invitation for your little one's Sesame Street theme birthday party. We designed decorations and favors to match, so you can have a complete theme the whole way through the party.

Your invitation can play off the classic Sesame Street theme - "This birthday is brought to you by the Number 3 and the Letter C." (Use the first initial of your child's name and their age!)

If you are looking for a "WOW" invitation, have our artist draw a custom caricature invitation. How fun to have your child drawn standing next to Elmo, Big Bird, Cookie Monster or Oscar the Grouch (my favorite!) It is a truly custom invitation, and your guests will be amazed.

Another cute (and simple) choice is a fill in the blank Sesame Street party invitations with matching thank you notes.  No matter what invitation you choose, throw some bright confetti in your envelope to get everyone excited for your big day!

Sesame Street Decorations and Party Supplies

Welcome your guests with a Sesame Street personalized banner. Great for outside the house or in the entrance, we also like to hang banners over the buffet too.

Near the entry have a Elmo jumbo air walker balloon. These super tall balloons have weighted feet and "walk" around the room. The kids will LOVE these and they are great for photos.
Have Sesame Street playing on your TV in the background, or even the fun and familiar sounds and songs from Sesame Street. Make a playlist with favorites like the "Sesame Street theme song", "Rubber Duckie", "C Is For Cookie", "The People In Your Neighborhood" and more!

There is nothing that screams birthday party as much as crepe paper streamers hung around a party room. Match the Sesame Street theme using bright and very fun Sesame Street ceiling danglers.

Balloons are the perfect decoration for a birthday party; they fill the room up with color and are inexpensive! Use a Sesame Street balloon bouquet hung from bright colored curling ribbon. Always use an odd number of balloons to make the best looking bouquets. Don't forget the helium tank to inflate the balloons.

Sesame Street Table Decorations and Menu

Start with fabulous Sesame Street party supplies to match the theme. There are plates, cups, napkins and more to make serving (and clean up!) nice and easy. A Sesame Street tablecover or any solid color tablecover is the perfect choice to go with all these great paper goods.
Make wrapped silverware bundles by rolling plastic silverware up in the napkin and tying it closed with ribbon!
There is an adorable Sesame Street birthday centerpiece that features all of the favorite characters from Sesame Street. Or better yet, place an Elmo cake on the middle of the table... it's  a centerpiece and dessert display! Use either an Elmo cake pan to make it simple!

Dinner can be simple at a birthday party. Get a few sheet pizzas and pans of pasta for everyone and salads for the adults. Look for Sesame Street theme cookies and crackers (available with the infant and toddler food at the grocery store) and have them around the room for everyone to snack on during the party. Have assorted sodas and bottles of water available for the adults and juice boxes for the kids. Add matching personalized Sesame Street water bottle labels to the table for a fun tie in to the theme!

After all that party food, a fun Elmo cake (made in an Elmo cake pan) will be a big hit at the party.  Or how about an assortment of cupcakes or cookies decorated like the different Sesame Street monsters?

Sesame Street Party Activities

If you can have the party where the entertainment is built in then go for it! If your church or temple has an activity room with toys and playground equipment, see if they have the space available for rent.  A bounce house is another great option. The kids will have fun crawling, walking and running around testing out all the toys and equipment.
You can have a few structured activities for the kids to keep them busy:
Face Painting - This is a great activity that kids love. You can paint Cookie Monster, Elmo or Big Bird on their cheek or hand. Have a teenager or another adult paint so you can be available to run the rest of the party.

Cookie Decorating - Always fun and tasty... dessert and activity in one. Before the party, bake sugar cookies and let them cool. 2-3 cookies per child is a good rule of thumb (one to eat, some to take home... and now you have a favor too!) Provide white icing and sprinkles, and a take home container (this custom Sesame Street party favor bag is perfect). You can add a little note "Friends are the sprinkles on the cookie of life... thanks for celebrating Billy's birthday with him!"

Sesame Street Party Favors

Start with a personalized party favor to help your guests remember this fabulous birthday party celebration. A personalized favor is sure to be remembered -

A great, and easy favor is a Sesame Street Party Favor Box which includes all your favors ready to go. Or start with a crayon theme empty favor box and fill it with fun Sesame Street theme favors, such as:

  • Chocolate Chip Cookie from Cookie Monster
  • Rubber Duckies from Ernie
  • Goldfish Crackers from Dorthey

Have a great time on Sesame Street with your little ones and Happy Birthday from Party411!
