Stain Removal Tips
Well, the Party Girl knows that nothing can
disrupt a party more than a spill or food and drink accident. Fear not. No
spill, stain or mess is too bad to interrupt your guests' good time.
Here are some tips for getting rid of that wine spill.
First off, make sure that you follow any directions on a damaged garment.
Treat stains as soon as possible after the damaging incident. The older the
stain, the more difficult it will be to remove.
Use cool water to dilute the stain. Soak if necessary. Try pre-treating the
area with a stain removal product found at your local grocery. Wash the item
with bleach safe detergent. Older stains may respond to stronger agents, but
the task at hand is more challenging. A laundry detergent with enzymes might
solve the problem. Avoid use of chlorine bleach on silk, wool, or man-made
materials since it will discolor and disintegrate it.
For stains on furniture or larger items, it is best to call your local dry
cleaner (perhaps he will take pity upon you and donate some solvent to your
cause). Try Resolve or another solvent to get those stains out of furniture
and carpet. You may even resort to calling your local carpet and upholstery
cleaner to get rid of that bad boy once and for all.
