Dr. Sonya Friedman

Dr. Sonya Friedman was host of the CNN informational/news program, "Sonya Live," for over eight years. During this time, she was also a resident psychologist on ABC Talkradio and a weekly columnist for the Detroit Free Press.

Sonya has been honored throughout her career with several prestigious awards. She was the recipient of the 1^st Annual "STAR" Award from American Women in Radio and Television (honoring a continued commitment to the issues and concerns of women). She also won an Emmy for her television program "Sonya" and a cable ACE Award for CNN’s "Sonya Live."

Dr. Friedman’s ability to translate her knowledge and training in psychology to everyday concerns and news events has made her one of the most recognized media psychologists in the country. In addition to her media work, Dr. Friedman has authored several books that have landed her on the New York Times bestseller list:
