Rock n' Roll Back to the 50's

Party Type: Birthday
Invitation: A formal invitation, costom made, not bought. You write whether the guest will be a "jock/prep", or "greaser". The guest will have to dress that way to get in the party.
Decor: Black, white, and red streamers everywhere. Table should be nicely set, with cake/cupcakes presented nicely, but covered up so they won't get bugs in them, gifts close by, and favors (usually candy in a decorated clear tie-bag), under the table so nobody sees their "thank you" for attending the party/ sleepover. Blown-up pictures of the greatest 50's icons- Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, Sandra Dee, James Dean, etc.
Food: I made cupcakes instead of buying really expensive cake(s) because I had invited alot of people, somewhere around 20 including family. But, instead of just old, boring cupcakes, I got the idea to make each person their favorite flavor, and wrote something unique (in a good way!) about that person. Let me tell you, guests love personalized things, even if its food!
Music: 50's music, including Elvis, and a variety of other "Martian Hop" musics. Make sure the music is in the order you want to play it in. This will keep every thing going and you won't have to stop to change the cd's around...You won't have any time for your guests!
Highlight: Everybody danced, played really fun games, and ate really good food.
