Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (21st)

Party Type: Birthday
Invitation: "tickets" cut out of gold paper with the party info printed on them...we actually printed the info on gold vellum and them glued that to white cardstock to make the invitations a little stronger
Decor: We hung movie posters (from both the original and the 05 version) on the walls of the living and dining rooms and had over 50 helium balloons in every color of the rainbow spread around the party space. Since we're college students, we didn't have a lot of money to spend, but if we had more we would have made a 3D mural on one of the walls of the living room. We planned on cutting hill shapes out of styrofoam board and painting them bright green and hotgluing brown fabric to the bottom to make a chocolate river. We would have also twisted crepe paper to make the tree things in the new version's meadow and hot glued plastic candy cane (the kind people use to decorate at Christmas) randomly across the hills. We also found these great paper mache pumpkins that we would have spraypainted in bright, metallic colors to look like the candy gourds in the film. I love this movie so much that I'll probably do the full version in a few years when I can afford it!
Food: finger foods (chicken wings, artichoke and cheese dip with crackers, mozzerella sticks,...) were stationed in the kitchen for drinks we had a lot of jungle juiceand beer (plus s
Music: We mixed tracks from the 05 movie's soundtrack with a lot of Billboard Top 100 type songs.
