It's a...Taxes & Tailgate Party

Tax DayApril 15th is almost upon us. And you know what that means. We must pay our taxes. By midnight. End of story. Bottom line. Over and out.
So what do you do then?
Have a tailgate party at the post office, what else?!

Get ready for some great fun. There are a dozen reasons to do this...you'll meet new people, a party will ease your depression, you can write it off as a business expense...so on and so forth.

Invitations:  There are two. One is a flier sent to your friends asking them to meet you at your local post office's parking lot at 9 p.m. or so. The other is a sign posted on the door or on the lawn in front, inviting tax-payers--there to mail their returns--to join you.

What...a Taxes and Tailgate Party
Why...to celebrate paying our taxes
When...9 p.m., April 15
Where...The Post Office on Main Street
How...food and drink served from the back of our cars!

BYO food and drink and some extra (if you didn't owe IRS too much) for the people
who might join you.

Entertainment provided by our car radios!
See you there.

Menu:  Potato chips, pretzels, beer, pop, sandwiches...picnic-type stuff that you can serve from coolers.

Activities:  A log for people to sign in (in case they want to be invited back next year). A "let off steam" petition for them to sign that's silly but works as an icebreaker. A make-your-own name tag booth where people put what percentage of taxes they pay. And that's all you need. It's mostly a social event. And it's a great way to make new friends.

Makes paying your taxes almost worth it.
Well, then again...
