The Price is Right Night

Party Type: Other
Invitation: I used Evite.com and created my own background using photos I found online of the game show. But you could discise the invite as a ticket to the show or include a ticket inside. I asked that all of the people who come dress as the Fanitical Fans do on tv. and also that they bring a set amount such as five or ten dollers with them to donate so that I coudl in turn go out and but the prizes without spending a fortune.
Decor: I rearanged the living room/dining area so that all of the chairs were facing the table. I used the couch as contestants row as it was in the front row. I hung colorful streamers, handed out yellow name tags like what is on the show, and used cardboard, markers, paper grocery bags, a deck of cards, and dice to remake some of the pricing games that they play on the show.
Food: I had set up in the kitchen three or four bowls (with spoons)of colorful dry cereal and cups so the guests could select their favorite. I served an orange punch but really any brightly colored beverage would do. It this were a birthday party of course cake and ice cream would be in order. I would make the cake look like the big wheel or a plinko chip or just very colorful.
Music: At the biginning of the night as we announced "Bob(ra)Barker" and asked teh first contestants to "come on down" (which we drew from a hat) we played the theme song to the price is right. We also had the audience help us yodle as the mountian climber went up in a game called cliffhangers.
