If the Bar or Bat Mitzvah falls during Chanukah …… Welcome Area Welcome your guests with a giant dreidel floating on a ¾ foam core board with an easel. Don't forget to have the child's name emblazoned on the sign welcoming everyone to "(Child's Name)'s Chanukah Mitzvah". Sign-in Board Use a standard 3'x4' board on an easel with the child's name written across the top Or use the dreidel (mentioned above) for all to sign Or have people write their congratulations in a message book Seating Cards Use 5" Chanukah kaleidoscopes tagged off with the guest's name and table number The Party Room You can section the room off: one area for adults; the other for kids. A sign that says: THIS WAY TO…DREIDEL SECTION - KIDS' ONLY The adult area can be designated as the MACCABEE SECTION Cocktail Napkins: Use alternating blue and white. Have them imprinted as: A Chanukah "Mitzvah" Tables:
DJ/Band Backdrop: Have a lit 4x12 sign saying: A Chanukah "Mitzvah". Add a giant dreidel to hang over the stage. Candlelighting Have an oversized menorah cut from foam core, with enough extra candle spaces to get to 13 plus one for the Bar/Bat Mitzvah Party Favors Goody bags for the kids containing Chanukah yoyos, paddle ball, kick balls, gelt, dreidels. Customized candy bars work well, too.
