Golfing, Personalized Cutout for Father's Day Golf OutingLots of dads love to golf, and I can't think of a better way to celebrate his day than by taking him out for a round. Let dad know about the plan with an "Emergency Golf Kit." Throw in some tees, a sleeve of balls, maybe a golf glove, and we always have a special hat made up for the occasion at a local shop. Of course, a life-sized cutout of dad in full golfing regalia is a special, and unforgettable, way to announce the plan. Another option is to give the man of the day a book for inspiration, lessons, or amusement. He probably won't lose it as fast as a sleeve of balls.

Golf is hard work, so make sure you get to the course early for some breakfast (it's amazing how good hard boiled eggs and a cup of coffee taste in a clubhouse) and a chance to hit a few shots on the range. Once you're fed and warmed up, head to the first tee for that most important golf tradition; making the bet. Make sure the odds are stacked in dad's favor. It would be a shame for dad to lose on this of all days. (hint hint)

There are plenty of golf games to play.  Here are a few of our favorite golf outing games.

After the round, stop in the 19th hole for a bit of refreshment. Don't stay too long since golf is hard work and everyone is sure to be hungry. A great idea is to head back to the house for a barbeque. Check out our barbeque express theme for some great ideas. Since no one gets tired of golf, you might want to have a chipping or putting contest later in the day. These contests should be fun and easy so everyone from 2 to 92 can play. Finish the day with a cake decorated with a golf theme and I can guarantee that Golfing Dad will be one happy, and tired, guy.
