Race Day Creations For You

Daytona 500
NASCAR™ Fans...Come One, Come All

Everyone loves watching a race! Slick cars, going fast, bumping each other on the turn; the pomp, the pageantry, the pits, the roar of the engines. The NASCAR® circuit has become a truly national sport with the Daytona 500 kicking things off.  Seems like a good reason to have a party.  Get your engine started....

Race Day Party Invitations

Personalized Invitations Race Day, Cars, NascarIt's a race to the finish to get invitations out before it's too late. There are some great options for any race day theme party.

I think personalized driver's license invitations are perfect. Choose your oen picture and your own wording, and every state is available!

Another popular style are personalized ticket invitations. You get to choose from nine colors and can order as few as 30. They also have optional magnet backers or lanyards!

Or make it easy on yourself and drive your guests to your door with one of our fabulous personalized race day personalized race day invitations! Too late? You can also call people. Just be careful racing to the phone.

Race Day Decorations and Party Supplies

Race Car Driver CutoutThe starting line is at your door with one of our race car driver cutouts, with your face (or without) providing a perfect welcome and a perfect photo op! Then hang racecar cutouts from the ceiling of your foyer.

This might be a good place to put a race car pinata to set the mood.  It's different and gives the place a race day feel. (Don't forget the pinata blindfold & bat and the pinata filler if your going to break it open later!)

Decorate your guests with plastic visors (Daytona, Florida, get it?) and emblazon their choice of winner across the front. Just give them a visor and a marker and let them go to town.  You can also let them cheer on the race with light up pom poms, get them in blue and green.

Race Day Table Decorations and Menu

To have a really successful NASCAR theme party, you need a racetrack feel to your table. Cover all tables, buffets and bars with Nascar tablecovers. Choose from black and white checkered paper goods or Nascar-themed paper goods so that you stay in theme. Pre-set the table and stuff each cup with a napkin, plastic ware (fork, spoon and knife) and two racing flags coming out…one cup at each place. Or maybe hang a 6' long Nascar banner over the table. People won't have trouble finding the food then! Your table will look fabulous.

Race Day Silver Trophy Everybody at your party will want to feel like a race car driver so why not give them the chance?  For centerpieces, there are kids' racing helmets you can use in the table center with silver trophies. Mix in a few black and white latex balloons. Around the house, place bouquets of racecar and black and white balloons just for decoration. Another good option is some mini race cars on the table. They make a great table accent and if you have kids around they'll start playing with them eventually.

Most likely you'll want to call your kitchen the "Corporate Pavilion" and pretend it's in the Hospitality Village. Make some signs directing people to the bar and the food with that kind of thinking! What to serve? Anything really works…but make sure to give each dish a "racing car" name (e.g., Diesel Dogs) or use famous drivers in front of each thing (e.g., Richard Petty Pepperoni Pizza). See PartyMenu411 for some ideas.

Activities

Of course, you'll want to have a betting pool.  And check out www.daytonaintlspeedway.com for trivia…trivia games are always fun.

Or play a round of Who am I? (The Nascar® Edition):

Write the names of racing related people and objects on index cards, and tape one card to the back of each guest. Here are some ideas to get you started:

  • Pace Car

  • Talladega Superspeedway

  • Dale Earnhardt, Sr.

  • Checkered Flag

  • Tachometer

  • Daytona 500

  • Richard Petty

  • Roll Cage

Have everyone walk around in the same room, and instruct them not to mention what is written on each person's back, but to talk to everyone as if they are the person or thing on their card. As people begin to correctly guess their identity, they have to continue to treat the people who still don't know their identity like the character whose name is taped to their back. When everyone guesses their "true identity", then the game is over.

Don't forget your race car pinata, you can fill with all sorts of toys and candy. Save it until after the race so those who lost can vent their frustration. Otherwise, they'll be beating on the taker of the "checkered flag"...and that won't be good!

Race Day Party Favors

Custom Candy Bar Race Day WrapperWell, you must try our personalized Race Day candy bar.  Your friends will be ROARING when they read the ingredients and nutritional information that's all about you!

For the kids (and some of the adults who think they are kids), put together a goody bag:

Or your local candy store should have foil-wrapped chocolate cars. Put a few in a goody bag and give them out during the race or as a "thank you for coming" gift.

Give a good whoop in the pit for me.
The Party Girl.
