Daytona 500
Everyone loves watching a race! All right, maybe not everyone, but I sure do. Slick cars, going fast, bumping each other on the turn; the pomp, the pageantry, the pits, the roar of the engines. Anyway the Nascar circuit has become a truly national sport with the Daytona 500 kicking things off. Seems like a good reason to have a party. Get your engine started.... Invitations It's a race to the finish to get them out before it's too late. Send an email or a flier with a checkered flag (your friends will think you're so creative!) Or make it easy on yourself and drive your guests to your door with one of our fabulous custom invitations! Too late? you can also call people. Just be careful racing to the phone. Decorations The starting line is at your door with one of our race car driver cutouts, with your face (or without) providing a perfect welcome and a perfect photo op! . Then hang racecar cutouts from the ceiling of your foyer. Each package has a set of four if you get them from our party shop or try your local party store. This might be a good place to put a race car pinata to set the mood. It's different and gives the place a race day feel. (Don't forget the pinata blindfold & bat and the pinata filler if your going to break it open later!) To have a really successful NASCAR theme party, you need a racetrack feel to your table. Cover all tables, buffets and bars with Nascar tablecovers . Choose from black and white checkered paper goods
Decorate your guests with plastic visors (Daytona, Florida, get it?) and emblazon their choice of winner across the front. Just give them a visor and a marker and let them go to town. You can also let them cheer on the race with light up pom poms, get them in blue and green. For more great Race Day theme party decorating ideas visit Race Day Decorating411 Menu Most likely you'll want to call your kitchen the "Corporate Pavilion" and pretend it's in the Hospitality Village. Make some signs directing people to the bar and the food with that kind of thinking! What to serve? Anything really works…but make sure to give each dish a "racing car" name (e.g., Diesel Dogs) or use famous drivers in front of each thing (e.g., Richard Petty Pepperoni Pizza). See PartyMenu411 for some ideas. Favors Well, you must try our customized Race Day candy bar. Your friends will be ROARING when they read the ingredients and nutritional information that's all about you!
Or your local candy store should have foil-wrapped chocolate cars. Put a few in a goody bag and give them out during the race or as a "thank you for coming" gift.
For the kids (and some of the adults who think they are kids), there is a goody bag that comes complete with candy, a die cast car, Dale Jarrett stickers, a pull back race car, compass keychains, and more! Activities Of course, you'll want to have a betting pool. And check out www.daytonaintlspeedway.com for trivia…trivia games are always fun. Don't forget your race car pinata, you can fill with all sorts of toys and candy. Save it until after the race so those who lost can vent their frustration. Otherwise, they'll be beating on the taker of the "checkered flag"...and that won't be good!
Give a good whoop in the pit for me.
