Midnight Cowboy New Year's
Then again, what a great theme for a New Year's party--not the movie, but the western theme that the words "Midnight Cowboy" bring to mind. Western Theme New Year's Invitations Anything with a cowboy setting works great. Party411’s Creations for You has some fun personalized western party invitations or you can look for something at your local party store. Invite your friends to yippee-yi-oh at your house this New Years. And if you're so inclined, ask them to dress western. Western Decorating Ideas For some great western decorating ideas visit Western Decorating411. Put a life size cutout at the door to welcome your guests. On a hidden boom box, put some of the greatest western theme songs to set the mood. If this isn't a group of people that know each other, you may want to make nametags and attach them to sheriff badges and hand them out as people enter or have them on a table at the door. Or use the cowboy hats again (they aren't expensive) and add name and Happy New Year to the front with a touch of glue. Centerpieces are multi-color cowboy hats, of course, with balloons coming out and the napkins each have a sheriff badge pinned to them if you don't use them as name tags. Use bandanas as napkins and red bandana paper goods so you wash nary a thing.Just for fun, on the bathroom doors, put two tomahawks, crossed over to make an "X." Cover the buffets with more cowboy hats, mini-bales of hay, arrowheads and some really scary snakes. You can also have a photo op for your friends that is a mural-like background of buffalo roaming, the moon in the sky and a campfire where all little cowboys rest at night. Add some real hay for them to sit on and a 20" arrow thru the head gag thing, a 24" foam cowboy hat (cool!) and wowee, you've got pix. Menu Serve what they served in the old west. Or pretend: buffalo burgers, Roy's ribs, Dale's pot roast and more. Check out our PartyMenu411 section for great menus. Activities Square dancing? Line dancing? Hay ride? Depends on the weather, I guess, and where you live. At Midnight, you may want to hang several piñatas filled with candy and toys for people to break. You may even want to think about a sing-along (banjo players are great for this). For other games--check out our game section! Party Favors
