Remember when Tom Sawyer talked that other kid into
painting his fence because he said it was like the most fun, ever? Well,
here's a hint-do the same thing with your friends! You can get all your
Christmas cookies done, decorated and packed in wonderful tins by your
friends--just in time to give your relatives for Christmas. And they'll have
fun doing it, I promise.
Invitation
Any
Christmas
Invitation
can be used for the invitation. But, be sure to add a recipe card! But make it blank...and ask your guests to bring
it with them with a great recipe and a batch of their favorite cookies.
At the door
Welcome guests with a
Santa Apron & Hat
or paper aprons. Make a list when
people RSVP and personalize each apron.
There is a nice Christmas cookie banner you can personalize for the occasion.
Decorations
The gingerbread room decorations
are perfect for a cookie theme party. There is a gingerbread man, a
gingerbread house cutout and a peppermint drop walkway. Your guests
will love these and you'll get great photos of everyone posing with the
Gingerbread man! There is also a great
gingerbread house balloon
that can be used in balloon bouquets around the room.
Do some fun things like serve appetizers,
cookies and all the "eats and treats" on cookie sheets, decorate with oven
mitts that you've written Happy Holidays on, use candy sprinkles as
confetti, etc. Be creative.
Don't forget paper goods (so you only have to clean up after the baking not
the food). You may want to use
Ho Ho Ho paper goods to pull through a holiday theme.
Activities
This is the fun part. The kids can help; the adults are just big kids--so
it's fun for all. Divide your guests into teams that can switch jobs at a
moment's notice. One team makes the dough, one team prepares the cookie
sheets (washes, dries, greases, etc.), one team makes the cookies with
cookie cutters or teaspoons and one team decorates after they come out. Have
plenty of frosting, sprinkles, eyes, noses, etc., plus cookie cutters, of
course, on hand!
Give awards for the best creativity and have fun. Don't eat too much!
Favors
You
can give your guests a perfect holiday favor with
personalized candy bar
and a
Christmas
cookie plate
and oven mitt set.
After the party, be sure
to make copies of all of the recipes you received and send them to your
guests as an extra special thank you!
