Dressed To the 9's!
A Formal Graduation Party
Have you
ever heard this expression? There are several stories of origin, none that make
sense as far as I am concerned (like the theory that tailors used nine yards to
make a suit—the more material, the more status you achieved).
In any
event, we don’t dress up enough these days—so hosting a “formal” in 2000-nine,
emphasis on the nine, seems the proper thing to do. And, oh, by the way, in case
you haven’t guessed, NINE is our theme.
Graduation
Invitations
Use
our fabulous 2009 Dressed To The 9’s invitation
and include a pair of
glittered 2009 glasses in the envelope. For fun, ask your guests to take a
picture of themselves in the glasses and email it to you to use at the party.
You can use them for seating cards (if you are
doing seating), on the back of chairs, as part of a “year book” type thing—we
can even make them into a tri-fold centerpiece.
Or we can add those faces to cut-outs in gowns
and tuxes. You are soooo creative.
Don’t like that? Send a
Class of 2009 Funtoo™ and tell your guests they simply won’t get in without
it emblazoned somewhere where it’s noticeable. Formalwear is always complemented
by a tattoo, don’t you think?
To the 9's Graduation Decorations and Party Supplies
Add the title “Dressed to the 9’s” to an
assortment of banners to hang outside. Or if YOU are the star of the party,
consider the
2009 photo banner—you’ll never look better, after all.
At the door, besides a photographer (obviously), put up two
7.5’ 2009 silver columns to use as photo ops and to decorate the
entranceway. If there’s room, connect them with a set of
2009 silver Mylar numbers (Megaloons) to make an arch.
We don’t want anyone to forget why they are “Dressed to the 9’s”, so hang
2009 Mylar swirls or
2009 dangling foil cut-outs over the dance floor (use magnets if the ceiling
allows) to reflect the lighting from the DJ (lighting is soooo important) while
sending a clear message. At $3.99 for a package of 3, you can really make a
statement. If it’s not possible to hang anything, float helium balloons on the
ceiling in the colors of choice (black and silver is the most formal). If you
choose, let the ribbons hang (cut them at different lengths) for a really great
look. Inexpensive, fun and festive.
Behind the DJ, what else but a huge
2009 banner, right? Perfect. Create your own, and make sure to notify your
DJ or whoever is doing the lighting so they can focus on it. They come as large
as 30 x 90” for less than $50! And you can buy them with removable adhesive
backs (peel, place and go) or with grommets to hang them.
To the 9's Graduation Table Decorations
We have readymade
2009 centerpieces for less than $5 and they are perfect for high tables. For
the larger tables, use our “Dressed to the 9’s”
custom centerpiece, and just add balloons (silver Mylar nines are available
from your local party store), flowers (if budget allows) or even battery
operated tea lights.
Since
this is a formal event, you’ll want the tables to be perfectly set. Start with
2009 silver stem drinking glasses that double as a favor, wrap the napkins
with
2009 class beads, scatter
2009 confetti around the base of the centerpiece, and on each butter plate
put a 2009 Dressed to the 9’s candy bar
personalized any way you want.
At each place or on the bar, put Dressed to the
9’s bottled water (if they don’t drink, they’ll surely keep it as a
souvenir!)…
Show off the buffet by decorating it with a
6’ tall 2009 on lit columns. Scatter
2009 confetti around the table as an added touch--there are four colors to
choose from, so mix it up or silver and gold. After all, you will be Dressed to
the 9’s, right?
Over the top of the buffets and drink stations, install silver
2009 Megaloon
arches so everyone can easily find food and drink. Plus they sparkle with just a
little bit of light creating a fabulous look throughout the room.
To the 9's Graduation Party Favors
Everyone already has their
2009 glitter glasses,
so the next best thing as a favor would be a
Class of 2009 personalized
camera with your school name and/or emblem.
Another fun favor would be a laminated pass we
can design just for you with a place for guests to add their photo; they must
save it and bring it to your 10th, 20th and other reunions (at least you’ll
recognize the photo is you don’t recognize them). Use a
Class of 2009 lanyard instead of the standard black to make it truly worth
keeping.
Also, don’t forget a photo favor using our 2009
photo op cut out; guests put their face(s) in the 00’s…quite a shot.
