Have a
"Hoppy" Leap Day!
A Leap Year 2008, Leap Day Celebration
With a Leap Year
occurring only once every 4 years, shouldn't we make more of an effort to
celebrate Leap Day? I, for one, always have a Leap Day party. My
friends have already asked how I will be celebrating Leap Day 2008!
For me, Leap Day 2008
(celebrated on February 29th) with be a "Hoppy" Leap Day with a frog and lizard
theme party. Of course any of these ideas can be used for a Leap Day
Birthday party as well!
Here's the plan:
Invitations
Invite your guests to have a Hoppin' Good Time at your Leap Day party. Fill in the blank Swamp Party Invitations
are easy to fill out for your party. A
green ticket invitation (with a
matching green envelope) would work
as well.
Your best choice is a personalized Leap Day invitation
from Creations For You!
Look for frog or lizard confetti at a local card shop and include this in the
envelopes.
Leap Day Decorations
Welcome your guests with a "Hoppy Leap Day"
welcome sign. Then give them each a
Swamp Party Cone Hat (or just have these for the kids).
Want to really make everyone
laugh? Dress up as a
Frog Prince when you answer the
door!
There are fun
Swamp Party Paper Goods that feature
frogs. Use these on your
Swamp Party Plastic Tablecover!
The frog centerpiece
is simple and works well for this party. Or, look for a plush frog at a
local party store and sit him on the center of the table.
A
frog Keychain
can serve as a napkin ring. (Your guests will take them home as a favor
after the event)
I love the
Frogs Toilet Paper
and definitely plan on having a few rolls in the restrooms!
Leap Day Activities
Scatter multi-colored
squirt frogs
around the room. You can also go to a local party store or toy store and
get plush or inflatable frogs to hide around the house. Make this into a
find the frog hunt for the kids. They can keep the frogs they find, or
trade them in for other small prizes.
Another idea is to bring blank cards (maybe
green?!) and ask guests to write where they would like to be in 4 years when
Leap Day 2012 arrives. You can save these cards and mail them to your
friends at the beginning of 2012 or have your guests seal them in envelopes and
bring them home. Just make sure to write "DO NOT OPEN UNTIL LEAP DAY 2012"
on the front of the cards!
Favors
You can use the
Swamp Party Treat Bags and fill them
with a personalized Leap Day candy bar.
A
Flashing Frog magnet is the perfect favor. In fact, I'd give these out
as soon as the sun sets so your guests can wear them at the party.
Have a Hoppin' Good Time!
