What better theme for this year’s prom than CRAZY 8’s! You played the card game as a kid, so everyone will relate. Plus, it’s 2008, and it’s fun to do something different than the usual April in Paris, Mardi Gras or Hollywood themes everyone uses.

Creating a “club” atmosphere and decorating with the 8 of Clubs would be fun. You can even have a few tables where guests can play Crazy 8’s and/or poker with play money in denominations of 8!

Prom Invitation

Using the 8 of Clubs from a deck of cards and enlarging it makes a perfect invite (or use ours). Add your copy to the back and announce your prom theme inviting everyone to Club Crazy 8’s! Using 2008 confetti, sprinkle just a bit in each envelope to pull through the theme.

Registration

Over the registration tables, put an arch of Mylar club-shaped balloons and in the middle, attach a Club Crazy 8’s logo.
 

Also, it would be great fun to do a “bouncer” cut-out to put next to registration with a speech bubble saying something like, “No shirts, no shoes, no way!”

Entrance

Over the top of the entrance, put a welcome arch made with 8 of clubs cardboard playing cards attached to each other with your school name…Welcome to Admiral King High School’s Club Crazy Eights! in the center. On either side of the door, put a bouquet of black Mylar club-shaped balloons.

Dance Floor

DJ/Band Backdrop

Using 40” Mylar numerals, hang 2008 over the DJ or band with Mylar club-shaped balloons coming off either side to make a giant arch. Make sure everyone has LED microphones to sing along with the music when it plays.

Soda Bar

On the “bar,” put personalized CRAZY 8’s water bottles with your school name and copy about graduation on the label. A great keepsake!

Photo Op

Create a fun set with artificial trees with lights that have clubs and 8’s having off of them (inexpensive to rent from any local prop shop). Over top, connect trees with your “club” logo and pass out 2008 silver or gold glitter sunglasses for a memorable photo.

Or, better yet, use our 2008 photo op with room for a face in each of the zeros. Now that’s a fun favor!

Entertainment

A small casino with personalized play money with your Crazy 8’s logo might be just the trick when the band takes a break. Or just host games of Crazy 8’s with gag gifts as prizes for the winners just to have something different.

Favors

Everyone will be glowing on the dance floor with flashing necklaces, rings and earrings. And don’t forget 2008 flashing pins – a great prom souvenir.
