Alison in Candyland!A Candyland Theme Bar or Bat Mitzvah
Everyone loves candy and a candy theme Bar or Bat Mitzvah is one of the most popular themes we've seen in a long time! Give your candy theme a bit of a twist and have your Bar or Bat Mitzvah party be totally unique with a Candyland theme party with fun decorations, favors and sweets!
If you don't feel like doing all the work, we've created a Candy theme decorations package that will decorate your party for under $10 a guest!
Candy Theme Bar or Bat Mitzvah Invitations
Along with your formal Bar or Bat Mitzvah invitation, you want to include a fun party invitation. You can mail it with your formal invitation (in the same envelope) or mail it separately shortly after you mail your formal invitation. Invite your friends to the sweetest party of the year with a cool, personalized Candyland theme invitation. Attach a large colorful lollipop or a small bag of candy to the invitation or include it in the envelope. Better yet, mail it all in a small box with colorful paper shredz and candy.
Another great idea is a personalized Candyland theme semi-custom caricature or a full custom caricature invitation with the hostess' face added on Princess Frostine. Name it Mayaland (with the Bat Mitzvah celebrant's name, of course) as the name of the game. It features the fun characters from the Candyland board game! You can then use this art for your centerpieces, sign in board, seating cards and other decorations throughout the party. Welcome and Cocktail Area Start your decorations for the moment your guests arrive. Line the hallway to the party with Candyland character cutouts like King Kandy, Mr. Mint, Queen Frostine and Princess Lolly with the Bat Mitzvah celebrant's face! (If this is a Bar Mitzvah, have the Bar Mitzvah boy as Mr. Mint) Have them all lining a peppermint drop walkway. Each set comes with 24 printed peppermint drop disks. Or recreate the Candyland board walkway with bright squares of carpet in the same colors as on the board.
For a really creative way to welcome your guests, write a poem (or we can do it for you) on a large sign that uses the names of different kinds of candy throughout the poem. Place the actual candies in place of the words for a cute sign to invite your guests into the party in a very sweet way. Something like-- "You're a lifesaver for coming to my Bat Mitzvah! Don't snicker…I really mean it!"
A colorful candy cane arch is also a great idea for brightening up the entrance to the party. The candy canes are over 7' tall and are connected with wrapped peppermint balloons - yum! Another cool decoration to have at the party entrance is a giant colorful balloon lollipop or even a balloon lollipop bouquet. Use a round Mylar balloon and wrap it in cellophane for the top of your lollipop and attach the balloon to a cardboard tube! You can also hire a balloon company to create a great display of balloon candy. Don't forget to add Hershey's Kisses Mylar balloons too!
Imprinted cocktail napkins are great for cocktails and dessert at a Bat or Bar Mitzvah. Why not try something witty, like, "You've got Gooey Gumdrops On Your Face! (Name)'s Bar/Bat Mitzvah (include the date)."
Sign-in Area and Seating Card Area
You can also take the game cards from a Candyland game and use those for seating cards - have one table be the red square table and another the double yellow square table...you get the idea. Have the table number at the table match the seating card.
Or use a personalized candy theme candy bar wrapper as a seating card. You can add your guest's name to the front of the wrapper.
For a great sign in board, a caricature of your Bar of Bat Mitzvah party guy or gal surrounded by sweet treats (or the Candyland caricature from your invitation) makes a great focal point and inspires guests to leave messages. We've also got a great Candyland theme sign in board or a fabulous 3D sign in book that are perfect for your Mitzvah! If you choose a sign in book, be sure to list Candyland as one of your "favorites" for the cover art and we'll include a picture from the board on your book.
We always like to decorate the sign in and seating card areas at a party as well. You'll want to draw people's attention to the area so they are sure to leave a message for the guest of honor and find their seating cards! So, don't forget to add balloons to this table or even a few fun pieces of 2' tall candy. Be sure to have lots of colorful balloons at the table. The Party Room Fill your party room with sweets! Create more fake candy lollipops (see the instructions in the Welcome section) and other large wrapped "candy" made from balloons and colorful celephane and have them hanging from the ceiling.
How about a fun candy topiary? Using a glue gun, lots of candy and foam topiaries from a local craft store, you can create topiaries of a number of different sizes, shapes and colors. How fun! Use them to decorate buffets and bars. (They are also great for centerpieces.)
Candyland Table Decorations
Choose fun and festive solid color linens in the Candyland colors - red, pink, green, orange, blue, purple and yellow. The more the better! Alternate the colors in your linens around the room and have an Candy bracelets or necklaces make adorably festive napkin rings to bring flatware and other table decorations together.
A Candyland board game makes a fun and inexpensive centerpiece. Wrap it with a large bow and have balloons coming off the top. After the party, donate the games to a local children's hospital or a favorite children's charity.
Want a sweet centerpiece? Design a candy and chocolate "cake". Use larger candy bars around the side of a stack of round Styrofoam disks. Add a slew of candy on the top. You can even add balloons on the top. Give these to children's hospitals or an orphanage as a gift when the party is over. You'll feel great about it! Scatter miniature wrapped candies around the base as confetti—and what a great look! And you're so charitable!
If you are naming each table after a different candy or chocolate, then use that as your centerpiece. Fill a vase with the candy and be sure to scatter extra on the table. Have balloons in bright colors coming out of the vase for an extra pop of color.
For a more casual look, set up a few very long tables with different kinds of miniature candies such as Hershey Kisses, individually wrapped Lifesavers, Starlight Mints, etc. all over each table. Center a few baskets full of goodies throughout each table so that the guests can munch on sweets all through the evening.
And finally, at each place, how about a mini gumball machine; these are too cool and can be personalized. Your guests will love them. (You may want to fill them with candy other than gum - some event centers won't allow it at parties!) Candy necklaces also make great napkin rings!
Instead of candles on the tables, choose personalized mini tabletop lanterns with a photo of your child holding candy on all four sides. The all come with LED candles and look great surrounding a centerpiece.
It's also fun to create a newsletter highlighting your child, his or her bio, why he/she is being inducted, etc. Print them out and put them at every place for your guests to enjoy. Have them called, "Today's Candy" published by (Child's Name) and write reviews of all his or her favorite candy.
Candyland Desserts
And, how about a "Jelly Bean Bar" with different flavors of jelly beans and recipes so people can mix and match their beans for new flavors? Have a menu of suggestions and sort the candy into different bowls. Be sure to label what flavor of jelly bean is in each bowl.
Another fun idea is to have a table with hundreds of small cupcakes frosted with white frosting. Then set out all sorts of toppings and let people decorate their own cupcake. Yum! Candyland Party Favors
