Nice and Easy Mother’s Day

How to celebrate? Make a reservation! That’s right. Dragging everyone over to Mom’s house for Mother’s Day is as much fun for her as doing the wash.

So! Find a fabulous restaurant and start there.

Centerpiece: flowers, what else? Mom loves these. Just let the restaurant know that you are bringing something in for the center of the table (so they don’t crowd you), and drop them off or have them delivered (This way, Mom is surprised!)

Napkin rings: go full tilt. Don’t stop with a centerpiece. Wrap those napkins with something special. When you go to the florist to pick out that centerpiece, ask the florist to take single flowers (miniature roses if she’s really special) and wrap them with floral wire so you can twist them around the napkins.

Table candy: don’t forget this. You want to do it right, don’t you? Well then, buy some colorful mints for the table (and don’t forget the doily to put on the serving plate).

Activity: Mom trivia. Sit down with your siblings (if you have any), and come up with a trivia quiz about Mom that includes her idiosyncrasies, pet peeves, this and that. Let her play, too. Because chances are, she won’t believe a word of it.

Above all, treat her special. It’s her day.

And don’t drop off your laundry when you come to pick her up!
