Homecoming!!

With help from Anderson's Events, we've come up with some terrific homecoming themes. Big props can be purchased to go with each of these, but don't forget the little things—glow jewelry, deelyboppers, noisemakers and more (a whole list is available below). Decorating the room is important. Decorating the people is imperative. That's if you want to have the best time ever, of course…

Take a look at these ideas and if you need more help creating them, write to the party girl - we're happy to assist. But these ideas will get your creative juices flowing!

Strike 'em Down

Using bowling as your theme, you'll be sure to score a perfect game! Inflatable bowling pins are available to use for decorations, and you can tie balloons in your school colors off of them to make bouquets, centerpieces, arches, and more. Strikes and spares can hang from the ceiling, use a bowling score sheet as the invitation or flier and use other little touches (like a bowling key chain around each napkin) for a fun effect.

Takin' Them by Storm

Check out Andersons for some great kits for this theme. Besides a tornado you can construct from a kit, there's a giant football helmet that measure 7x8x11'. For the Homecoming dance, decorate like everything's been through a tornado—blowing in the breeze: signs askew, balloons at odd angles. With a little creativity, this theme will knock, oops, blow the socks off the competition.

Shake 'Em Up

Let your team shake, rattle and roll their way to winning the Homecoming game. At the dance, decorate with a "sock-hop" theme like there's no tomorrow (only yesterday). A giant jukebox, jukebox Mylar balloons, dance marathons, an ice cream sundae/soda bar, pictures of Elvis and more will make this one terrific evening. Pass out glow jewelry, Raybans, pom pom headboppers and more as favors. And don't forget to get the cameras out.

Royalty

Sometimes guests just want to get dressed up. Concentrate on the King and Queen aspect of the event and decorate your dance to look like HRM's (Her Royal Majesty) palace. All sorts of kits are available and with the use of twinkle lights and other special effects, you can really create a fantasy world that's both romantic and playful. Silver star cut-outs and Mylar balloons, a star arch, and more is available. Throw in some star clappers, blinking star necklaces to more to add those extra touches to your dance floor.

We're #1

Using the number "1" in your decorations is easy and fun and you can be really creative. Cut 1's out of foamboard or other material and light them with battery operated bee lights. Hang them from the ceiling, mount them on walls—even make arches out of miniatures. There's also a super sized #1 that stands 10.5' tall! Use it as a photo opportunity or for decoration on the stage.

Trash 'em!

This isn't hard. In fact, it's great fun. Use upside down trash cans for bases for your balloon arches and bouquets. Make fun dummies (stuff pants and shirts with the logo of your rival school with newspaper, like you would make a scarecrow) of the competition and stuff 'em in the trash all around the room—legs this way and that. Without a lot of work or a big budget you can have a really creative and fun event.

Sink 'em!

A cruise theme. That's right. Using anchors and life preservers you could pull off a fun event that screams you're team is going to win and sink the competition. Make a ship wreck as your focal point and watch them go down!! Tickets to the dance could be cruise boarding passes, centerpieces could be a life preserver base with balloons coming out--so on and so forth! All in your school colors.

We're On a Roll

A casino night. Not just the usual stuff but a built in activity as well. Decorate with oversized dice, Mylar playing card balloons and more. Put chocolate dice on the tables and print play money with your school mascot where George Washington would be. Call a gaming company in your area for an estimate. This is one night you won't forget.

Dragon 'em Down

A medieval theme? Yep. An old castle with cobwebs and eerie sound effects is a great idea for homecoming especially around Halloween. A dragon or two, a knight in shining armor, grave markers and an incredible gateway all make for a great entryway to any haunted habitat!

Halloween

Why not? Pumpkins here, there and everywhere are an easy way to decorate. Andersons has spooky trees, grave markers, bats, giant cobwebs and more! Also, check out the many Halloween themes and decorations at Party411.com.

Bury 'em!

Another great Halloween theme, no? At the front, a giant tombstone with the competition's name. Shovels in the corners, cobwebs, directional signs to different cemeteries, etc.

A Luau or Fiesta

Doesn't really say football or winning, but luaus and fiestas are two of the best parties around. Check them out.
