Pick up one of those boxed mystery games, such as How to Host a Murder. Give the parts to the best actors, and ask everyone else to come dressed as a character from the theme.

Any ideas on how I can conduct a murder mystery party theme for 40-50 people in the outdoors? Trying to keep it simple for that many people. Your ideas would be greatly appreciated.

The plays are fully scripted for 8-10 suspects, the rest get clues, police reports, and a look at the crime scene, and have to solve the mystery. There's a director's copy to keep everything simple.
