We call them Stag N Drags where I'm from, but same basic concept. The bride and groom throw a huge adult-only party where they fundraise money. It's more common in my area to throw the parties at a picnic ground or in someone's yard. $5 tickets gets the guests all-you-can-eat food and beer. Guests pay extra for liquor, jello shots, poker, craps, blackjack, horseshoe tournaments, 50/50 raffles, and anything else the single bridesmaids can think to do to raise money. Our family traditional sets up tents and make it a 2-day extravaganza until all the kegs are finally tapped, but then again, we're rednecks and proud of it. :) Everyone looks forward to the stag n drag--lots of fun!
