I'm afraid I don't have any tips as this is what I'm just beginning to do myself as I have a 18 yr. old son, Matthew that will be graduating from high school in May of this year,(2000). Because of snows here in Ky. they will not determine the exact date of graduation untill probably next month. I have spent hrs. on the internet looking for a website to find ideas while I'm stuck inside not being able to do anything yet but have had no luck as of yet. I just wandered if you had and where I might look, and maybe you could share what you have gotten planned. I do like to have parties several times a year as we own our own home and have plenty of space inside and out to have parties. We have a large family and I think I want to have some of his closer friends involved also Matthew also has 2 cousins that will be graduating and could have the celebration combined but I probably would be adding them without much help financially or as far as the work load so many have told me just to focus on my son Matthew and let the others have their own celebration. With some of the yougner kids involved I feel like I should have activites involved also. I feel like I will defintely have to have some help with this one. This party will be maybe weekend before graduation as the high school always has a party called project graduation that is immediately following graduation and they are locked in with hundreds of activites and this is to keep them in and to have a drug and alcohol free graduation celelbration. We,the parents have already started fund raisers for this event as in the past years they have raised 15 to 20,000 and on up to help fund the food and the gifts of items and money prizes given every hr. and then they have a grand prize of the amount of the yr. of graduation this yr of course will be 2,000. This is usually the last thing at about 5 this next morning. We have had great response with the parents they are exceptionally good to work with. But back to my own party, please if you would share your ideas and thoughts or if you know of anything or anywhere I could get to help me please let me know as I am getting more nervous about not getting a start everyday. Even though I am a stay at home mom and have more time than others would have this also limits my finances but I do enjoy planning and having parties. Please I would apprecitate any help.
Thanks, Karen.
