The best food for boys or girls is english muffin pizzas. They can even put their own toppings on if you make a toppings bar. Make sure you have plenty of pretzels and chips. You can even do a make your own sundae bar for dessert.
Scavenger hunts are good sleep over activities. You can just make a list of items around the home and yard, around the neighborhood, or around town. You can also make the list in riddle or clue form. My sister's youth group did pumpkin bowling last fall. You could replace the pumpkins with small water melons or cantelopes or honeydews. The pins are plastic 2 litre soda bottles filled with water. The youth group brought and were responsible for the cleanup of their own pumpkins. You could also make the "pins" smaller and use potatoes. Girls have a great time with "telephone", but I'm not sure if boys would.
Boys especially, but both might enjoy camping in the back yard in tents(if you're comfortable with that).
