I think the best costume is a detective! I am a 10 year old girl, but this costume will work for any age. Just go to a local thrift store for good will store to get something cheap. Get a tan over coat that goes down to your feet. Then find a black hat that has a roundish top that looks good to you. A few extras are mustash, sun glasses, and a magnifying glass. Have fun with this idea!
