I myself have a small house and a small yard. My
problem has always been that my yard is not fenced
in. I am adjacent to two other lawns...almost like
an open field only their yards are as small as mine.
My yard is a small rectangle. You are fortunate.
Something that you may not have considered is to
invite him. If not, talk with him about your up-
coming party. Neighbors expect parties every once
in awhile, and also expect noise. Even if you
have your party indoors your guests WILL venture
outside. I think you will be surprised to find how
compassionate your new neighbors are. A great ice
breaker to meet them! You mention that you have a
large backyard, if you have some trees your noise
will be quite muffled. I would keep all food inside
in one area and lots of chairs outside in circles.
If he cannot be disturbed re:(illness)Try to make
sure your music is somewhat low. If you want this
to enjoy your party, set it out one hour earlier
give yourself plenty of time to get ready to greet
your guests. I know it will be a splendid time
for all! good luck!
