I just attended a shower where kitchen and cleaning were the basic theme. In a laundry basket were many different cleaning items, such as Fantastic, Mr. Clean, S.O.S. pads, Cheer Detergent, etc. A story was read that used the Bride and Groom as subjects. The story incorporated the names of the various cleaning products. For example (bear in mind I am NOT very creative): Mary knew Tom was Fantastic the moment she met him. He brought Cheer into her life..... As each product was mentioned someone pulled out the actual item and gave it to the Bride. You can have a lot of fun with your story. I guess it just comes together as you're shopping for the cleaning products. The guests were told to bring their favorite kitchen gadget as their gift. You can even name a budget for the guests to follow. I thought it came off very well.
