Nik, I'm in process of planning a Cruis theme, where there will be a bit of naughtyness with pirates and fair maidens. be sure to have a gang plank at the entry to the party, and some music from the Pirates of the Caribbean wouldn't hurt either. Perhaps the guests could be presented with a choice of a sailors cap or a bandana to join in the fun. A good game of pin the patch on the pirate could be fun as well as some tropical stir sticks for your drinks you serve being renamed the "Black Pearl" or "Swabbies Surprise". A treasure hunt would be fun, mapping your events area and have "treasures" already hidden before the guests arrive. Kids stores are a great place to find decorations, they always have blow up ships, and plastic swords and eye patches. Even those ugly teeth packets that are give to kids would be fun (but we always used tootsie rolls to make our teeth look disgusting). Be sure you're dressed in the stripped shirt so your guests are instantly in the mood when they arrive. And a hook for your less used hand would be great! In fact, you could make it fun for your sister so when she arrives, she starts on a little hunt to find her friends anxiously awaiting. Hope this helps, have fun. Auction Chair
