Each team should have 4 to 6 members. They should have a digital or polaroid camera to document they found the item. To make sure they don't split up but stay together as a team, make a rule that all team members must be in the picture or minus one (the photographer). To save money have them drive one car or place everything within walking distance. I suggest locating interesting places, monuments and slightly obscure items to make it fun. The hunt should begin & end in the same location (a central loction or park). It should not last more than 3 hours. Include as many items on the hunt list as possible and give them points from 1 to 5 depending on how hard it is to find. For example, the White House is 1 point but a picture of the President leaving the White House should be worth 5 points. Other ideas could include making t-shirts for each team (you can buy iron on paper at Office Depot and print your own team names or pictures. it's about $40 for 50 papres. you'll need a color printer, though). Or have team members dress up (rainbow clown wigs for team1, cat in the hat hats for team2, black sunglasses for team3, etc.). The wackier the better. If money allows you may want to rent walkie talkies from a local store or just make sure everyone has a cell phone. Try to have the teams setup at least 2 days before and definitely have the list typed and printed before the reunion. You will also need to give the winners a gift. Maybe a book on DC, a photo album or picture frame depicting DC. Good Luck!!
