My son's birthday is also on the 27th. We had several memorable halloween parties for him until he finally made it clear, he did not want costumes at his party. Don't know if you feel that way too.

My son is an adult now, but as a teen, he had a party one year at the zoo (something most of his friends had not done in years, so they had a blast.) Another year, he had a dinner party with his siblings dressed in tuxes as waiters and a bunch of French dishes, including flaming Cherries Jubilee. When he was 18, they all went in a limmo to the big city 30 miles from here where they met us for a play and late dinner.
