You really only have three choices...pay mega buck for a rental hall, shave your guest list to a managable number, or find more room in your house.

When I have a cocktail party, I get more people in by discouraging anyone from sitting down. Sometimes I have gone as far as to send my sofa and bigger chairs off to a rental storage place for the week. I also have the luxury of a spare room I never use, so I can stack excess furniture in there. When my son turned 16, he wanted a sit-down dinner for 20, so we got rid of the regular dining room furniture abd brought in a bunch of small round tables and folding chairs. Take a look at your garage too. Usually, the cars could be left on the street for a couple of days, freeing up a pretty large, vacant room.
