One more thing ...Posted by JazzieCazzie on September 23, 2003 at 10:31:20: In Reply to: Re: Brain Freeze posted by JazzieCazzie on September 23, 2003 at 09:36:39: You asked about whether she should just give the follow-up letter out to people at school ... this is probably overstating the obvious, but I would say not unless EVERYONE in her class is invited. There has been a recent trend at my daughter's school for kids who are having parties to give out the invites at school, with, naturally, the kids who are NOT invited feeling, sometimes, hurt and left out (I refuse to let my daughter do that in any situation ... we have a school directory with addresses and that's what it's for.) And though I guess this was unavoidable, apparently the day that most of her friends got their invites in the mail it was quite the topic of discussion at school BUT since she goes to a huge public school obviously not everyone was invited and she did have to deal with a few people who actually asked her why they weren't (as well as one who was so surprised to BE invited she actually asked my daughter if she realized she'd invited her!). Though it blew over in a day or two, it was awkward. Why put our kids in an uncomfortable position unless it's necessary (she did invite everyone in her Hebrew school class but that was only like 22 kids)?
