The chair idea is a great one - we did that as a fundraiser at a school auction and all the kids wanted the chair (one of those papsan type chairs from Pier 1)!!

Another idea is to get an 8 x 10 photo of the bar/bat mitzvah child and matte it. Have all the friends sign the matte and then frame it.
