Celebrating when loved ones are still in mourning

we're making our son a Bar Mitzvah party with the works.
His great grandmother recently passed away so his grandmother and great uncles are not permitted to join in the festivities (dancing and enjoying music). How can I involve them in the candle lighting ceremony and still be sensitive to their situation? Are there any other suggestions to the traditional candle lighting that might work better?
