i am having a bar mitzvah in october and the theme is Matt's world. I have made my own centerpieces that revolve aroung the theme.
two tables for each theme: music, movies, computers, travel, sports. the place cards will be passport holders that have the original passoport
logo and "passport to Matt's world" with the date on it and an itinerary in them
that tells where you will sit. i got some of the standups,... austin powers will be at one of the doors to the reception with a sign over the door
that says either "bon voyage" or "customs" or "entre". i am not sure what to use. there are two doors, so I want one to say either enter and the other exit
or what do you think? for a gift we are giving cd holders with a gold world on it with "www.mattsworld.com" and the date around the world.
there will be chocolate lollipops attached to the outside of the clear bag with the cd holder. each adult table in addition to the centerpieces
will have chocolate lollipops appropriate for that table. Director clapboards for the movie table, football helmets for the sports table, music notes for the
music table, airplanes for the travel table, baseball mits for the other sports and a computer for the computer table.
Much of the planning has gone well. i am having questions such as:
should i use disposable cameras at each table? should i have someone taking polaroids at the placecard table for them to put into the passport holder? how do you ever
go about picking music for the candlelighting ceremony and video? i don't love the suggestions of the DJ.
Can you do candlelighting without a cake? are there candle holders?
it is a daytime affair. i have always found your advice great and the vendors terrific.
thanks for any suggestions.
