Worried about very small turn out

We have a pretty small family. There are actually quite a few relatives who live in NY, PA and Florida (we live in NJ). We really can't be sure many of the out of towners will even come. Some are more distant relatives whom my husband insists must be invited (but who probably won't come). We have a small group of friends (about 12 couples) and I know of 2 couples who cannot come due to other family obligations they have. I am beginning to get "Mitzvah mares" that no one will be at this party. I never wanted to make a party in the first place..we are having one due to my son's and husband's insistence. Basically we are having a party and hope someone actually comes (other than immediate family). I figure we probably won't have less than 70 people (149 will be invited). Should I send a "save the date" card to increase my chances of more people being able to come? We are well-liked. Anyone reading this must think no one likes us! HELP!
