True you musn't punish the child but indeed having a huge shower like that IS very ridiculous! Like you said, a little something at her house with a few close friends and family should be sufficiant. Wouldn't the daughter be a little embarrassed when asked, "So, what have you been up to?" by all the people she hasn't seen in a while and her response will have to be, "In jail!". It's just an awkward position to be in for ANYONE. Seriously no shame!
