I'm hosting a Noah's Ark baby shower for my sister-in-law in September who is having twins. For centerpieces I found some 5x5 wood planter pots on sale at a craft store. I painted the base white and the rim light blue and pink stripes. I color copied the picture of Noah's ark from the invitations and did a decoupage on the sides of the planter with the colored copies. I then got that green sturdy foam filling you use to make flower arrangements into the planter and covered it with curly ribbon (the kind you curl with scissors) then I bought very inexpensive knock-offs of Beanie Babies (elephants, lions, giraffes) and put two of the same in each planter(symbolizing twins of course) then tied balloons to them. They came out perfect! They look very expensive but actually cost me only $4 to make each one. Towards the end of the shower, we're going to ask everyone at each table to tell us their birthdate. Whoever's birthdate is closest to the Guest of Honor's DUE DATE will be able to take the centerpiece home. Hope this helps you!
Of course if your Guest of Honor is not having twins, you can change the details accordingly, as well as the decoupage pictures on the planters. Use pictures from your theme instead! ;o)
Does this help?

I found all of the Noah's Ark party decorations at Party City.
