I personally feel a 2nd baby shower is a great idea. I was given a "surprise" baby shower for both of my children by my husband's family. They are a very big, close knit family. A baby shower has been thrown for each child born into the family (even for those with 4 or 5 children). There is always something the baby and mother need. Especially with all the new items that seem to be coming out. Not to mention it makes the mother-to-be feel special at a time when she needs and deserves the extra attention. However, not all people feel this way. Most of my side of the family has the traditional "old school" opinion that a 2nd baby shower is only given if the child is a different sex or born at least 5 years apart. Hopefully, as more 2nd baby showers are thrown, the traditional opinion will be held less and less. By the way - CONGRATULATIONS!
