I am at a total loss and am hoping that some of you may be able to assist me. My grandparents 50th is in two months and as the oldest grandchild (the unmarried one w/o kids!)I have been elected to get a party together. The marriage has not been wonderful..grandpa was unfaithful and drank the 1st half of the marriage and 6 months ago dove off the wagon...as far as I know he hasn't drank in 2 months. Grandma was left raising a handful of kids working whatever jobs available to feed her kids. They have had hard lives. They have spent most of their lives in one very small town. They are not and never have been romantics, they've slept in seperate bedrooms for over 25 years. They aren't much for games, don't believe in dancing. We won't have alcohol... What we will have is a lot of family gathered at a community center; Guys playing guitars and banjo. I am trying to get family to gather pictures and write down memories but I really am at a loss at how to make this special to them. We want to let them know how special they are to us and how they have set an example for the children and grandchildren. Any ideas? Thanks, Ann
