Asking many others to be involved gives me shivers--it's tough to know who will bring what and if they actually will come thru etc. How about a slide presentation--like a powerpoint--you may have some savvy relative who knows how to do this--include pics of the various people and perhaps some thoughts they have of your guests--courtship, wedding and memorable times also could be included==you can even add music and the narration to the presentation etc. Kids love those light up bracelets and necklaces--these are fairly cheap at the discount paper stores or online even. Get aunt Maude to hand them out as the kids arrive. Get Uncle Funny Guy to organize some kid/adult mixers--such as get the kids out on the floor and ask questions such as who's the youngest, oldest, came fartherest etc --give a little prize--then have them go get an adult and proceed doing the bunny hop or some similar mixer.. I'd go nuts if 'everyone' had to have a specific role--how about getting the father-in-law to emec= he might just change his mind about participation. Good luck! Just do your thing and have a good time.
