Dear Party Girl,

We need a few suggestions in planning a backyard anniversary party for our parents. I live near my parents, while my 3 sibilings live out of town. How can we all get involved in the planning?

I will be doing all of the leg work and preparation on my end.

We want to have an open reception for family and church members. What is a reasonable length of time? I was thinking 3 to 4 hours.

We need to keep it as simple as possible, as most of us our financially strapped at this time.
