If you're strapped for cash, go w/ the least expensive location. Figure in cost of renting tables, etc. if needed for a party at your brother's home. If you include a good map w/ your invitations friends will drive out there. We used to live about 30 miles from the city and people didn't seem to mind the trip for parties.

You could rent a Kareoke machine from a party rental place or borrow one from a friend.
