To Toast Your 50th Wedding Anniversary not a poem but a toast...maybe helpful.... The tradition of the toast, of lifting a glass to honor others, can be seen as early as Psalm 116,12, 13 where it is written: "What shall I render to the Lord of all his bounty to me? I will lift up the cup of salvation and call on the name of the Lord". On April 10th, 1948, Henry Fredrick Bosshard and Betty Jane Bowlsby exchanged vows, both speaking the words "I Thee Wed". That moment began a partnership that has survived for fifty years. A partnership that has seen the best of times and, of course, the worst of times. A partnership that has succeeded where others have failed. A partnership that has withstood the test of time. And so, in honor of the promises that were made that day, and kept for so long, I offer my cup to you, my parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry F. Bosshard.
