to party or not to partyPosted by Teresa on June 12, 2003 at 11:05:17:
My inlaws expect us to throw them a 50th anniversary party. These people have insulted and been ill-mannered since I met them 24 years ago. They do not acknowledge the spouses of their children nor their grandchildren other than to make disparaging comments. They invited themselves to my newly widowed mother's thanksgiving and after arriving late, sang at the table while eating, thus offending everyone there. My sister-in-law has the same feelings of why should we plan a party for someone who is rude, insulting and we really would rather not have to know other than they are our husbands parents. Even our husbands don't visit them unless guilted into it. Nor do we have the means to finance the plans they tell us to make. I believe if they want a party they can plan and pay for it themselves. I don't see a problem with planning your own anniversary party. Please let me know what others think on this matter. Thanks
