I'm supposed to host a 45th anniversary party for my in-laws. The brothers and sisters would like to have it take place in a barn (literally). Most of their friends live on the other coast and probably won't attend, so it will be just family. How formal or informal should I try to make it? My mother-in-law just wants a party because they've never had one, and she doesn't want in on the planning. I'm totally at a loss how to proceed. Any ideas??? I've got to make it special or she'll feel like it's just a get-together, but how special should I make it??? Any suggestions would be welcome!!
