Call a famoly meeting so you can frankly work these things out together. I would certainly not ignore the actual date of the anniversary, if the part is to be a surprise. Take them out to a nice restaurant, or have a backyard barbeque just for immediate family. It would certainly be easier to surprise them if you use a restaurant. If you have the party at home, use one of the siblings' houses, it will certainly be easier than if you have it at their house. IF you simply have to get them out of their house so you can set up the party, take them to see The Patriot. The will probably enjoy it. It's accurate historical fiction, well acted and with little language and only unavoidable violence.
